I'm excited to be your Cowell representative for the year. I joined CSC because I'm passionate about sustainability and integrating it into all aspects of our lives. I'm especially interested in food systems and education which is why I am also a part of PICA, Program in Community and Agroecology

Hi my name is Tino Paccione and I am very excited to have a chance to
be apart of the CSC council. As a transfer student I have been
astonished at how strong the sustainability movement is at UCSC. By
being apart of the council I plan to progress this movement by
supporting the innovative ideas of fellow students.

Hey fellow environmental enthusiasts my name is Devyn Noble Friedfel. I am a combined ENVS/ Econ major. As a first year transfer student I am pleased to see the amount of interest and participation we as student body have put forward. We are in a pivotal  time in this field of study, and I feel lucky to be around so many innovators that are making an effort for positive change. As member of CSC I hope to continue to see all of our efforts towards making this campus a beautiful and more friendly environment.

I chose to become a Campus Sustainability Council member because, as a UC Santa Cruz student, I chose to dedicate my academic life to the sustainability movements.  I am an environmental economics major and I plan to bring my knowledge of sustainability, garnered from my scholastic experience, to bear as a CSC member. In addition I have close ties with other sustainability organizations on campus such as the Student Environmental Center and the Sustainability Office.

As a Council member I hope to facilitate UCSC sustainability projects and create an atmosphere on campus that will foster student environmentalism.

Hi! My name is Catherine and I am the Stevenson Representative on the Campus Sustainability Council. As an Environmental Studies major my fourth year here at UCSC, I am deeply ingrained in the sustainability movement with a particular interest in social justice. I am on the Staff and Evolution Subcommittee on CSC, but beyond that I am the FoCAN Coordinator and I intern at the Natural History Museum on campus working on the insect collections! I am really excited to see CSC grow this year and bridge the gaps between organizations and build a cohesive team that can adequately support sustainability movements on campus. Aside from all that sustainable goodness, I love travelling, going to shows, biking, and eating good food with good people! Feel free to send me an email at chuffman@ucsc.eduif you have any questions!

Onward,
Catherine Huffman

Tomas Pastalka

Hello! My name is Tommy Pastalka and I am an Economics/Environmental Studies major currently finishing up my senior year at UCSC. I joined the Campus Sustainability Council because I wanted to get more involved with the students, and the organizations, that are driving our campus to a more sustainable and environmentally equitable future. I believe that the lessons learned and the ideas developed here on our campus can eventually be implemented in larger contexts such as cities and towns. Within the council I am the Fiscal Coordinator. My job is to oversee the Councils budget, facilitate transparency and ensure an efficient allocation of funds so that we have the most amount of money available to help your organizations grow!

I am a transfer student from Sonoma County and am thoroughly enjoying adapting to UCSC. I decided to join CSC because I wanted to get involved with the campus and found opportunity and interest in this council. I wanted to understand how some of our student fees were being allocated and be part of keeping this beautiful campus sustainable. As an Environmental Studies major the application of sustainability and the granting process were topics that I could always learn more about. Everyone wants to see positive change in their surroundings, and this is my chance to hopefully be a part of that.

Hello! I am a third year ENVS major. I decided to join CSC because I wanted to get familiarized with a sustainable sponsoring council. Also because issues such as student fees allocations and  granting  process were in my interest.
